AfBC Eastern Africa Business Network (EAfBN) and The Forum is a business-led initiative aimed at empowering African diaspora businesses and engagement; increasing regional economic ties, commercial connectivity, trade relations, investment, innovation and strengthening cultural with Africa.
East Africa is emerging as one of the fastest-growing regions on the continent. Governments across the region are making major investments in infrastructure, connectivity, services, agricultural modernization, and trade facilitation. This growth is fueled by both domestic initiatives and regional integration. Over 2025–2027, most East African economies are expected to maintain GDP growth in the 5–6% range, with countries such as Ethiopia, Rwanda, and Tanzania potentially surpassing these levels depending on investment and policy directions.
Investment inflows are projected to rise, particularly in sectors aligned with global priorities—such as green energy, digital services, and consumer goods. However, sustaining these flows will require consistent policy frameworks, stronger governance, and effective risk management. Intra-regional trade volumes are also set to expand, but the full benefits of agreements like the AfCFTA will depend on progress in implementation, infrastructure upgrades, customs modernization, and trade facilitation measures.
