The AfBC African Healthcare Business and Professionals Network and The Forum is a business-led initiative that aims to empower diaspora businesses and professionals to thrive in the UK health and social care sectors, the economy, and to accelerate engagement and participation in African healthcare development.
AfBC offers a range of services to help members, businesses, professionals and investors in identifying profitable projects, investments, and opportunities in the market, raise business profile while promoting their products and services, network, build connections and partnerships, and enhance knowledge and skills.
Join the AfBC African Healthcare Business and Professionals Network to get involved in the conversations, start and grow your healthcare business, enhance your entrepreneurial, healthcare excellence, digital health and leadership skills; gain access to grant funding and innovation capital opportunities; find healthcare supply chain and procurement opportunities; boost your engagement with Africa to influence regional healthcare industry development policies and strategies.
African-diaspora healthcare businesses in the UK form a diverse ecosystem: community health charities and social enterprises, culturally-tailored primary-care and mental-health services, domiciliary and care-home providers, maternal-health initiatives, and a growing set of digital health startups founded by diaspora clinicians and entrepreneurs. They play a vital role reducing health inequalities in African and Caribbean communities, create culturally competent care pathways, and increasingly combine social-impact missions with scalable business models. Key barriers remain access to growth finance, public procurement and commissioning, workforce retention, and regulatory/compliance burdens. Community networks, specialist directories and targeted accelerator programmes are strengthening visibility and pipeline for investment.
