AfBC Middle East - African Business Network (MEAfBN) is a business-led initiative aimed at driving investment and trade, increasing Middle East' commercial connectivity and strengthening economic ties, trade relations, FDI flows, education, cultural and linkages between the Middle East (Gulf Staand African countries.
The trade and investment relationship between the Middle East and Africa has been growing steadily over the past two decades, driven by geographic proximity, shared economic interests, and complementary markets. Both regions benefit from strong historical, cultural, and economic ties, as well as strategic initiatives that aim to enhance connectivity and cooperation.
Trade between the Middle East and Africa has increased significantly, with the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries—especially the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar—emerging as major trading partners for African economies. Key commodities and sectors include: Energy, Agricultural Products, Construction and Infrastructure Materials and Consumer Goods and Services.
While smaller in scale, African firms invest in retail, hospitality, and trade sectors in the Gulf, taking advantage of tourism, expatriate populations, and business-friendly environments.
